Clara’s College of Commerce is established in the year 1999 in the memory of Late Smt. Clara Kaul- an eminent educationist, who had a missionary zeal to take learning to every strata of the society. Strategically located in the heart of western suburbs, the college is fully equipped with the state-of-art facilities and well qualified teachers and professors. The college is affiliated to University of Mumbai and has received Hindi Linguistic Minority status.
The aim of the college is to continuously enhance the teaching methods in order to provide students with an opportunity for their all-round development. It also strives for excellence in academics and makes an effort to create an aura that induces passion for learning along with the inspiration for decisive thinking and assessment; and thereby helping them to become the best professionals in the chosen careers.

In the field of sports, the performance of the College has been outstanding. Our students have won innumerable prizes in the events like Cricket, Football, Chess, Carom, Badminton, Yoga etc. Our athletes have represented the University and Maharashtra state level on several occasions. The Annual Sports Day of the college is an important event where students and staff members showcase their amazing participation and get awarded for their achievements.
The College has won many prizes at University Youth Festivals in events like Mono Acting, Folk Dance, One Act Plays, Mime, Singing, Modeling, Cartooning and Poetry Recitation.
The College has highly qualified and dedicated faculty members who make extensive use of the latest learning and teaching techniques like power point presentations, OHPs, industrial visits, guest lectures, etc.
The College has a well- equipped library which has a wide collection of books pertaining to various courses. The Open Access system facilities easy access of books to students and encourages reading habits. It is widely apportioned into two sections-one that provides text books and other that provides numerous reference books for each class. Each section is well-sourced with encyclopedias, dictionaries, editorials, dailies, latest magazines etc.
The NSS Unit of the College undertakes numerous activities related to community and social development like Health and Hygiene Awareness, Cancer and Aids awareness, Blood Camps in the College campus, Environment Awareness, Medical Camp, Tree Plantation and Watershed Management programs. Besides, NSS volunteers also assist NGOs in organizing various social programs.
The College offers counseling to the students to identify and understand their personal and psychological problems. Professional and qualified counsellors offer guidance to the students to find solution to their problems.
The hi-tech computer lab of the college has many latest computers with modern software and internet access. It is supervised by professional computer experts.
With the facility of the LCD projectors and good audio systems, the centre is used for screening educational films.
A well equipped gym is set up for the students who are trained under the guidance of expert instructor.
THE COLLEGE MAGAZINE
It is published annually, contribution in the form of essays, short stories, poems, articles, riddles, sketches, cartoons, jokes, etc. are invited from the students as well as the teachers. Due weight age is given to all the languages. All the achievement of the teachers and students are significantly projected in the annual magazine-Insight. The editorial committee looks after the publication of the magazine.
The Institute has formed number of associations in the College like, Students Council, Commerce Association, Planning Forum, Art Circle, Mathematics Association, Marathi WangMaya Mandal, English Literary Club which organizes kaleidoscopic activities like debates, guest lectures, quiz, essay writing, poetry recitation, workshops etc. The College Alumni Association with over 500 members helps foster a continuous link with the past students.
Students Aid Fund of the College helps needy and deserving students by providing them with books and fees on merit basis.
To enable students face the challenges of the competitive world, the Career Guidance Cell works at two levels. It provides placement opportunities to interested students. It also gives guidance regarding the career options available to them. Seminars, Talks and Guest lectures are organized to help students to understand the current market scenario. Representatives from prominent industries are invited to tie up with the college for placement services.
Stretching its arms to new horizons, with its roots firmly implanted in high values, the College is working towards becoming bigger and better every day.
